5 FACTS THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE…

Few people in this world have hope as many base their confidence on feelings. Feelings can change, rendering them unreliable. Facts, however, are unchangeable and therefore, dependable. Let’s look at “5 Facts” we must embrace in order to know God and receive a life full of hope and meaning.

FACT 1

GOD IS HOLY

Being holy, God is perfect in all His ways and attributes. Any concept that humans may have of “goodness” falls terribly short of His holy (set apart) nature.

The TRUTH IS:

“There is no one holy like the Lord, indeed, there is no one besides You, nor is there any rock like our God.” – 1 Samuel 2:2

“Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy;” – Revelation 15:4a

FACT 2

MANKIND IS SINFUL

We are imperfect compared to God. From the beginning, humanity has fallen short of God’s standard of holiness and rebelled against Him. Sin is defined as missing the mark. Any attitude or action that contradicts God’s standard for humanity is sin.

The TRUTH IS:

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23

“The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?” – Jeremiah 17:9

“Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.” – Psalm 51:5

FACT 3

SIN REQUIRES PUNISHMENT

God will not allow sin into His holy presence. Since all are marred by sin, God must condemn mankind to be separated from Him – Now and Eternally.

The TRUTH IS:

“…your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.” – Isaiah 59:2

“And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” – Revelation 20:15

FACT 4

CHRIST PAID THE PENALTY

God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, paid for our sin. He desires that none die without knowing Him as Savior. The Bible reveals who Jesus is and what He has done for us by dying on the cross and rising again for the forgiveness of our sin.

The TRUTH IS:

“This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” – Timothy 2:3-4

Christ is not merely human; He is God!

“For in Him (Christ) all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,…” – Colossians 2:9

Jesus, the Godman (100% God / 100% man) shed His blood to save sinners and was raised from the dead.

“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” – 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

FACT 5

PERSONAL FAITH IN CHRIST RESULTS IN SALVATION

To come to God, we must trust in the Lord Jesus Christ alone. We accept His free gift of eternal life (knowing and being with Him forever) when we believe that He paid the cost for the forgiveness of our sin through His death on the cross and was resurrected. Since Jesus is the One who conquered death, He waits to grant you eternal life by pardoning your sin through your faith in His finished work.

The TRUTH IS:

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9

“But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness.” – Romans 4:5

“I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” – John 11:25-26
